Project description:

The project incorporated the following works:

  • 7.3 km twin running tunnel constructed by TBM
  • cross-over tunnel and headshunt for the depot
  • wayside ventilation tunnel between Bikás park and Újbuda-Központ station
  • shotcrete cross passages between running tunnels and shotcrete ventilation tunnels
  • construction of 10 station structures
  • fit-out of 10 stations for passenger areas and operational areas (structural construction, architecture, building works, building engineering, special mechanical engineering, power supply, escalators, elevators, station and wayside ventilation, mist extinguishing system, subdistributors)
  • track construction (station and wayside tracks: 54 E1 system, rail switches, third rails)
  • systems and power supply (power supply, signalling and train control, optical data transfer, station and depot control and telecommunication, radio telephone, fire alarm systems, monitoring centers, CCTV monitoring inside trains)
  • Kelenföld depot construction (main building, office building, rolling stock storage, track maintenance building)
  • Rákóczi tér underground garage construction incl. fit-out
  • connection to railway network at Kelenföld station, track construction, overhead line system, reconstruction of railway platforms, outdoor lighting and signalling systems
  • 0.4 kV outdoor and decorative lighting system and 10 kV equipment and related infrastructure
  • reconstruction of surface infrastructure in the vicinity of the metro alignment including construction of passenger and tram underpasses, track construction, overhead lines for tram and trolley bus services, road and sidewalk construction, public utility construction and relocation
  • temporary and final utility relocations in the vicinity of stations (water supply, sewer, gas and power supply, telecommunication and transportation cables, overhead lines, outdoor lighting)
  • road and sidewalk construction, landscaping in the vicinity of stations
  • installation and operation of building movement, noise and vibration monitoring system
  • installation and operation of groundwater, karstwater monitoring system
